Warning: May Contain Sharp Edges

Caves of Narshe Site News
Something bizarre happened to our host this afternoon, which has resulted in corruption to some of our data.

The most notable victim we've found so far is the data from our actual forum posts. I've manually fixed several serious errors in this regard, but there will continue to be unusual corruption in some old messages unless we restore an earlier version. Sorry about that.

If you spot anything else anywhere on the site which appears to be corrupt somehow, such as obviously massively inaccurate data (more so than our usual standards anyway!), odd symbols in text descriptions, or apparent programming code leaking out onto the visible site, please report to us as soon as you can where it is and what's wrong with it. We're still not sure how much this might've affected.

Sorry for the inconvenience.

New Server Strikes Again

Caves of Narshe Site News
Like sequels to comic book-based movies, the new server rotation at CoN never seems to end. Maybe if we were turning a profit, we'd get there. But anyway, if you're seeing this, it means the new server is working for you. There may still be some oddness - we had some serious issues in getting the site databases in line with this move.

But if you're reading this at all, you're better off than you were before. The forums are now open. Please come back. We missed you.

New Final Fantasy Reviews

Caves of Narshe Site News
A long time overdue addition, we now have a few more game reviews on the site.

You can check our new additions in our Final Fantasy Review section.

Dark Paladin was kind enough to provide reviews for both Final Fantasy 1 and Final Fantasy 4, while Djibriel did the same for Final Fantasy 6.

If you feel like adding your own opinion on the subject, feel free to post your own review for any game we cover in the Site Submission Forum. If you do, please remember to follow our guidelines on the subject, so that they'll be entered properly. Thank you all in advance.

New Fanfics at the Caves

Caves of Narshe Site News
A new update, brought to you by none other than Del S and myself, this time focusing on two games.

Added to our Final Fantasy Tactics section are two pieces. One is from L. Cully , an already notorious writer here at the Caves of Narshe for her previous work on Final Fantasy 6, and the other comes from a newcomer, Damien Valar, whom we hope you'll appreciate the style.

Damien Valar also helps build up our Final Fantasy 7 section, with the addition of his serious and original piece, while Del S himself proposes a 4 chapters piece, filled with his usual british style and personal interests in armed forces.

Enjoy your reading, and don't hesitate to share your opinions on these new pieces here.

Three Newsposters Added to CoN Team

Caves of Narshe Site News
If you frequent the news forum or the front page of the site, you no doubt noticed our call for newsposters to help Silverfork with her duties of, well, posting news. We had a great response with a surprising number of auditions, and thank you to all who sent us an email to apply. Having read through them, we offered spots to three of your fellow CoN members; I'm happy to say that all three gladly accepted our offer!

So, please give your congratulations to our three new newsposters, Laszlow, Karasuman, and Zero_Hawk. They all sent in great auditions and you can look forward to getting good news from them for some time to come. We're in the process of getting them settled in now, so be ready to read!

Media Update: Fanart and Avatars

Caves of Narshe Site News
Since I've been away from a PC for almost twenty-four hours now, I assume that most of you have already seen all this. I know a lot of you have seen the new avatars, as I myself and several of you have already taken advantage of them.

Thanks to Teta, we now have a new large gallery of stylized FFT portrait avatars - as stated, my current Ramza comes directly from them. Thanks a lot, Teta, for making them for us! Additionally, I decided to add just a couple more FF6 avatars from the PSX port, mostly of Squall being abused and Onion Kid looking chubby and goofy.

And, thanks to our new fanart team (this time, it was Mimic and Kappa the Imp), we've got a big chunk of new fanart too. This update features art from Kame, Galsic, Rujuken, Ronin, Bum's Rush, BratKitty, Silverfork, and Perigryn, and it includes some new stuff from every single game we cover! Thanks a lot to all for the submissions and work.
