7. Everyone Meet at Damcyan

Head toward the castle in the center of the northern desert. Wait a minute. What's this? Red Wings?! Explosions?! Oh no! You better go check out the damage.
At first, it doesn't look very hopeful. Lifeless bodies and remnants of blazes strewn everywhere. Keep looking though. Check all the way upstairs. But before you do, make sure Tellah is unequipped, because he's about to take off. When at the highest room in the destroyed castle, you'll find the lifeless body of a girl. Tellah loses it. He screams in horror as he looks at his only daughter on the ground. A bard enters. Tellah becomes increasingly agitated with him and goads him into a fight. The only thing that stops the old man from pummeling the bard into submission is a cry from his daughter. She reveals that the bard is really the prince of the recently bombed castle, Edward. He explains in detail about the Red Wings quest to acquire the crystal, and about the brutal assault that had taken place. With her dying words, she asks for her father's forgiveness. Tellah becomes enraged with Golbez, the leader of the attack. Get used to hearing that name because this is but the first mention of many. Fully enraged, Tellah curses out Cecil and storms off, leaving the party. Edward is left to mourn his love. Cecil then smacks some sense into him. He asks for help from the Damcyan prince, telling him his need for a SandRuby to cure Rosa's ailment. Edward relays where the ruby can be found, and he also decides to accompany you to get it. Not exactly a fair trade, Edward for Tellah, but it'll do.
You'll then get your first of several vehicles: a hovercraft, designed to go over the shallows around the water (those gray rock formations along the land). But before you take off, it might be wise to first go back into Damcyan to the top floor and go to either side. The pots replenish HP and MP respectively. There's also treasure to be had. Walk right immediately upon entering Damcyan castle, while you're still outside the castle walls, and follow the wall up. You should see a door. The guard inside quickly expires, leaving you to loot. With that, take off to the Antlion's lair. Head north and go along the shallows until you reach the next land formation. The cave is to the south. Park the hovercraft, then enter.
