10. The Heroes, Derailed by Ice

As you enter the base of Mt. Hobs, you'll see the trail blocked by a thick wall of ice. Ice is a formidable foe for our heroes, but no need to worry, the story continues on after a nice spoilery event.

Head up the mountain, and if you go through the door you see first, you'll come to a passage with a save point and a couple of treasure chests. As soon as you pilfer the contents of the chests and have a snooze in your tent, head back to the door you came from, then head right to continue on your way. As you head up the steps, you'll see a man engaged in a battle with some fiends. The first battle, all you can do is watch as the mysterious monk from a faraway land does all the work. When he's done with the first three goons and a tougher opponent shows up, it's up to you to help him out. Because, it's up to any Dark Knight to help those around him. That's like, number one on the list of totally Dark things to do.

	Strategy
	Since you're fighting with Yang as well, this battle should go swimmingly. But don't underestimate Mom Bomb. The attacks are fairly powerful. But stick with a normal strategy. Have Cecil and Yang attack normally, Rydia use Chocb, Edward attack with his harp, and Rosa use Aim, but have her cure when needed. After Mom Bomb sustains enough damage, she'll erupt into a more fearsome sprite. Keep your strategy going strong though. As soon as she loses enough damage, she'll self-destruct, dealing a hefty amount of damage to all members of your party, also dissipating into 6 different, easier-to-kill bombs. First things first, cure or revive members who got the brunt of the force caused by Explode. Next, have Cecil use his Dark Wave attack, Yang use Kick, Rydia attack with Ice1 on all of them, Edward attack or use potions to cure, and Rosa to cure when needed. The remaining bombs shouldn't last long.

After the battle, Yang will formally introduce himself and thank you for the assistance in defeating the bomb squad. Cecil tells him that Fabul is in danger of an attack from the Red Wings. It's decided that they will defend Fabul from their attack. Yang accepts the help and joins the group.

Head through the door, down the summit, and hurry to Fabul.
