Welcome to Fabul, home of the monks.

It might be a good idea to stop by the inn at first to recuperate from your journey through the mountains. Then you're going to want to check out the shops to up your supplies, weapons, and armor as you may not get a chance to do so before the big fight ensues. Head to the throne room to warn the king of the oncoming attack. As soon as you say yes to the king's request for help, prepare for battle. Unfortunately, you'll be fighting without Rosa and Rydia as they are assisting with the medical unit.

You'll have to get used to attacking with only Cecil, Yang, and Edward. How I suggest going about this: When there are three or more enemies, have Cecil use Dark Wave and Yang use Kick. Be wary how much you use Dark Wave though as it cuts into Cecil's HP as well. When there are two or fewer enemies, Cecil and Yang both attack normally. Edward meanwhile becomes the healer. Have him use potions like it's going out of style. If there's a moment when everyone is healed, then he can attack once or twice, but keep him for healing. You won't be able to heal up outside of battle as it's a controlled fighting sequence, so it's important to have him use potions often in battle. I would suggest not letting Cecil or Yang ever slip down below 100 HP to be successful in this attack.

It seems like no matter how successful you are in defeating the baddies thrown at you, it isn't good enough. You'll eventually be pushed back into the crystal room. And, in what will probably come as no surprise given that you're only a few hours into the game, you're about to get smacked down and sent on your way for a revised quest.

Head out of the crystal room and into the throne room. Check the lone pot for a Hermes. Go to the other end of the room and step on the brown square to open a door. Go through it, then to the right, down, then right again to go to room with a trio of treasure chests. Head back and talk to the man standing there. He'll tell you the king is in his room recovering from an injury he sustained during the fight. First off though, head to the inn as Yang suggested. It looks like a return to Baron is in order, and Fabul happens to have a ship sitting in the harbor. The king grants the request for a ship back to Baron. The king also hands Cecil a sword which will prove helpful in the return trip. Before you leave, make sure you grab the chest in the king's room. Wow, we've reached a new low by taking a treasure from the king while he's in the room at the time. A floor lower, one of the pots contains a Bacchus. Also check the West Tower for some treasures, and also to check up on Yang's wife at the top. Apparently, she beat up a soldier with a frying pan. Funny that she managed to help fight while the girls from your own party were hiding out in the infirmary. When you're ready, head to the ship on the dock and set sail to Baron.
