Gilgamesh

Biography

Gilgamesh is a warrior who serves as Exdeath's most trusted lieutenant. He uses a variety of weapons and tactics in battle, including calling upon his companion Enkidu and transforming into a four-armed monster.

Gilgamesh is encountered in boss fights no fewer than five times in Final Fantasy V. Pieces of the powerful Genji equipment set can be stolen from him on each of the last four battles: Gilgamesh (3), Gilgamesh (4), Gilgamesh (5), Gilgamesh (6).

Gilgamesh is on a lifelong quest to find the Excalibur (this is alluded to in several different Final Fantasy games), but usually settles for the worthless Excalipoor instead. During the third battle against Gilgamesh, Exdeath banishes him to the void for his incompetence. The last time you meet Gilgamesh, he frees himself from Exdeath's control and helps the party defeat Necrophobe.
