Biography

Edgar is the young king of Figaro, a castle located in the middle of the desert south of Narshe. A master mechanic and self-proclaimed ladies' man, Edgar is well-liked by his people. Terra finds his flirtations puzzling. Under his rule, Figaro supports the Returners while having avoided Imperial occupation. Edgar's twin brother, Sabin, is a martial arts student in a dojo outside of South Figaro.

Edgar won kingship over Sabin in a coin toss after the death of their parents, to Sabin's relief and satisfaction. Years later, Sabin discovered that Edgar used a two-sided coin. Edgar leaves Figaro via Chocobo with Locke and Terra after Kefka unsuccessfully attacks Figaro, seeking to reclaim Terra; Edgar is available as a teammate for nearly the entire World of Balance. In the World of Ruin, Edgar is one of the first characters Celes encounters; he has joined a gang of thieves (under the alias Gerad) to break into the long-buried Figaro Castle. Once Celes catches up to Edgar, they team up to save the castle and its residents.

Gameplay

Edgar can use spears, swords, all shields, and heavy armor. His stats are balanced, with very good Strength and everything else around average. Edgar's unique skill Tools uses special combat devices that may be purchased at different points in the game in Figaro or found in a few specific hidden areas.

Special Skill: Tools

Edgar has eight different Tools he can use, but you'll have to acquire them first. One Tool is enough; multiple copies of the same Tool have no added effect, and Tools will never break or wear out.
