When you enter Bervenia Free City, a woman named Meliadoul will be waiting there for Ramza. She seems to not be affiliated with anyone, but she’s after Ramza for supposedly killing her brother, Izlude.

35. Bervenia Free City

This can be a difficult battle because of the placement of enemies, so try to get as many characters with Ignore Height as possible, then beef up their Move with items like Battle Boots. The faster you can take out Meliadoul, the better, because the Summoners and Archers are all pretty deadly due to being out of range. Someone with Holy will be extremely helpful here because you can lock it on to Meliadoul and it will hit her and only her even if she moves. Meliadoul uses skills that have a 100% chance of breaking your armor, so the faster you can stop her, paralyze her, kill her, or steal or break her sword, the better. Teleport is a great skill for this battle, and it’s fun to watch your characters appear behind her and beat the crap out of her, so give that a shot as well. She should be your prime target, though you might have to take enemies out if you’re taking the stairs route to get to her. When you kill her, she’ll teleport away.
