??? | None Strategy This is a very intimidating new final boss. And a very pesky one if you go in blind. Even with high Magic and Physical Defence, you'll still be healing frequently; there are no walks of cake. With that in mind, on to the strategy. The boss has two stages that you'll face. The first is very resistant to all kinds of attacks, but you're going to have to fight it anyway. The recommendation is repeated use of whatever triple tech you have combined with all methods of healing that you need—Hi-Potions, Elixirs, even Megalixirs. Your main concern here is that you get to the second stage of the battle before it removes your status immunity, since the second stage will counter any and all attacks by trying to Confuse your entire party. After you deal about 10000 damage to the Dream Devourer, it will lower its defences, making it susceptible to all kinds of attacks, so go crazy. It's counter of Confuse damages your party, and that damage can stack up quickly, so keep fully healed, because it will soon use The End of All and Nothing, a very powerful attack which can deal up to 700 damage per character. Use your Megalixirs after it uses this attack, so you can get right back into doing as much damage as possible. Despite its high HP, you should be doing a few thousand damage per critical hit at this point, so equip the Valor Crest and other Critical hit rate increasing Accessories. You may end up using a lot of Elixirs and Megalixirs, but you should be able to win after all the bonus dungeons.
When you win, hopefully on your first try, you'll witness a brand new ending and final cutscene, which I'm told leads into Chrono Cross quite well. After all the credits have gone, you'll be rewarded with the
Dreamseeker, Crono's most powerful weapon with a Critical hit rate of 90% (and you thought that the Rainbow was overkill)! Now you can go through a New Game + with the strongest equipment in the game, and recover all those Megalixirs you used in the final battle. Chapters
